Ouija board inspiration

In the December issue of the American music magazine, Blender, the editors have put together "The 100 Greatest Indie-Rock Albums Ever". Feist's 'The Reminder' was the most recent album to make the list, coming in at 80, and just missing out to Clap Your Hands Say Yeah's self titled album in 79th position. M.I.A came in at 27 with 'Arular', and the #1 Indie Rock album was given to Pavement with 'Slanted and Enchanted'

It's been interesting to see the techniques that artists are using to promote albums at the moment. The Mars Volta are releasing an online game 'Goliath The Soothsayer' in January next year, which is based on their forthcoming album 'The Bedlam In Goliath'. The album was inspired by the time The Mars Volta spent with the 'Soothsayer', aka the Ouija board owned by the band's vocalist, and it's transition from a "source of fun on tour to a psycho spiritual force that almost tore the band apart". Trailers for the game make it look quite spooky... check it out below.



Mos Def recently signed to a new label, Downtown Recordings, and he has just confirmed that Kanye West will work on his upcoming album, producing several tracks. They worked together most recently on the track "Drunk and Hot Girls" on Kanye's 'Graduation' album.
