Snoop's entourage saves the day

Two members of Snoop Dogg's entourage were arrested over the weekend in Texas, after the rapper's tour bus was pulled over.

Police alleged that they smelled marijuana on stopping the bus, and proceeded to search the vehicle. Marijuana...? Snoop Dogg...? Surprised...?! I think I'd be more surprised if they didn't find marijuana on Snoop's bus.

Reportedly the search turned up a couple of ounces of weed, and two of Snoop's crew were taken to a nearby jail after admitting ownership.

Snoop was allowed to continue on his trip, and performed over the weekend in Dallas.

Of course none of the weed belonged to Snoop. With tracks such as My Medicine, Smokin' Smokin' Weed, and Lets Get Blown... all I can say is thank goodness for an entourage.

Check out the interview below on Snoop's role in the TV series 'Weeds', which includes insight into how he prepared for the shoot ("I stayed up all night watching Cheech and Chong"), whether the weed on the show is real, his fave munchie food, and his other names for weed.

XL Recordings

XL Recordings, the home of artists such as M.I.A, Basement Jaxx, Ratatat, Dizzee Rascal, Peaches and Vampire Weekend, have dug into their vaults to put together a compilation titled:

XL Recordings: The First Chapters

It is a collection of dance singles and remixes from 1990 to 1995, including tracks from The Prodigy and SL2.

This release follows on from the 'Chapter' compilation series that XL released during those early years:

* The First Chapter (1990)
* The Second Chapter - Hardcore European Dance Music (1991) - which included The Prodigy's 'Charly' and 'The Spirit' from Incubus
* The Third Chapter - Breakbeat House (1992)- including SL2's 'DJs Take Control'
* 4th Chapter (1993) - included The Prodigy tracks 'One Love' and 'Weather Experience'

The Prodigy - One Love

* The American Chapter (1993)
* 5th Chapter - The Heavyweight Selection (1995) - including Tall Paul's 'Rok Da House'

If you're a fan of old-school dance and rave, it is available from today.

And if you are an old raver - here's one for you from 1994. Cue sweaty club, girls in bikinis, dancing on boats, dancing in jeeps, guys on beach... It's completely cheesy, but may bring back some old gurning memories.

Lollapalooza was held in Chicago last weekend – with a lineup including Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Kanye West, Nine Inch Nails, Wilco, Bloc Party, Spank Rock, MGMT, Santogold and heaps more.

And while Kanye hit the Lollapalooza stage, he also hit out at rumors that he is producing Britney Spears' music

He posted a denial on his blog over the weekend, in a new section he has begun called 'Clarity Post' which he'll use "2 de-spell all false rumors".

This year was Lupe Fiasco's third Lollapalooza, and to ensure everyone knew of his veteran status a recorded intro to his set announced Lupe's history with the festival, and welcomed the crowd to 'LUPEPALOOZA'.

You might recall Prince covering Radiohead earlier this year at Coachella. It seems they are the band of the moment to whip out during festival sets, as Gnarls Barkley jumped on stage in mustard suits and bow-ties to perform the Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse rendition of Radiohead's 'Reckoner'.
